This year I have been a very good girl. I'm going back to school and keeping up with my NaNoWriMo word count. This is a far cry from last year around this time that saw me huddled under my desk whimpering. As you can see, I've come a long way!
For my Yuletide fic this year, I have made the following fandom requests and I would be delighted beyond the capacity for coherent speech to receive any one of these:
1. 24: Jack/Renee is love. I don't know what it is about the women in his life, but I never like them much. Audrey Raines came close, but she was still a little too placid for my tastes. Renee, though... I like her! And not only because she managed to survive the season, but she also appears to be Jack's equal. She is a powerful woman without needing Jack to save her all the time.
What I would very much like to see is how they relate to one another post Day 7. She has changed because of him. How are they both adjusting?
I also included Tony and Chloe in my request because I would love to see a face to face between Jack and Tony post Day 7, now that the truth is out about Tony. Chloe is just awesome and her snark is always a great addition.
2. Zombieland: Best movie I've seen in months, no lie. I laughed myself to tears on more than one occasion watching this. I didn't request any pairings, since this sort of setting doesn't really lend itself so well to romance, but a little Columbus/Wichita happiness wouldn't go amiss. Mostly, I just love the wacky hijinks surrounding Tallahassee and the elaborate zombie killing. Comedy is good!
3. Charlaine Harris - Southern Vampire series: I actually love the books even more than the television show. At the end of "Dead and Gone", Sookie's grandfather tells her that 'the vampire loves her', but she can't seem to make up her mind which one he's talking about. Bill or Eric? Well, in my own little fantasy world, he totally means Eric. So, that is what I would like to see. A realization fic where she finally works out that Eric is infinitely superior to Bill. Even if Eric is a little bit of a bastard, which we love about him anyway.
Alternatively, I could also be happy with Sookie and Sam together. He's a good, solid man that would give her a sweet happy ending and he deserves some happiness.
I tossed Pam in because she is made of awesome and even she would be a better choice than Bill.
4. The Young Riders: I keep asking. Some day, my fic will come. I'm not convinced anyone but me remembers this show, but that's alright. The memories are good. What could be better than cowboys, gunfights, horses, marshalls, stagecoaches, tin stars.... I loves me some westerns. Hickock love is appreciated. I totally ship Jimmy/Lou. Teaspoon was my first cranky old man fixation.
